Nicholas I. Pavlovich (* 1796; † 1855) from the House of Romanov-Holstein-Gottorp was Emperor of Russia between 1825 and 1855 and the last crowned King of Poland (Congress Poland) between 1825 and 1830.
This is how Catherine II. – the Great – described her grandson Nicholas when he was just one month old:
“He is two feet long, has arms not smaller than mine, and a loud, deep voice. I have never seen such a knight. When he grows like this, his brothers will seem like dwarves compared to this colossus. It seems to me that it is his destiny to be the ruler, even though he has got two older brothers!”
