Description
Peter I. the Great had a pretty tough way of dealing with alcoholism.
He invented the medal “For/Of drunkenness”, but it could not be called an incentive prize, because the cast-iron star weighed 7 kilograms, and this does not even take into account the weight of the chain. It was applied on the principle of shackles, so that the alcoholic could not remove it himself. The “heroes” had to walk around with such a medal for a week.
Since most of the drunks were sleeping it off on the open street, the policemen always had this unique reward with them and so it could well be that one woke up and already had received his medal. 😂
It is funny that the Zar himself was not even close to being an antialcoholic. 😉
